Oh technology, I love you so.

Philip is fascinated by the goofy paranormal phenomena shows that are popping up all over the cable networks - he makes me stop every time we pass one while we’re channel surfing. The one that makes me snicker the most is “Ghost Adventures” on The Travel Channel - the host, Zak Bagans, is hilarious in his steroid-pumped attempts to hunt down and confront the paranormal. Zak is a such a cartoon - he’s decked himself out in every trapping of the modern lunkhead: he has a missing “c” in his first name, over-moussed hair, over-pumped biceps, “rad” tats on his wrists and biceps, a rope necklace, a spooky ring on his index finger, and he regularly wears black “Affliction” t-shirts to show off his “awesome” bod. I think there might even be some Botox in that face of his too. He often breaks into roid-rages that he seems to think are “possessions” by evil spirits. It truly is laugh-out-loud funny.

Well, at long last I have gotten around to re-creating my old “Ultrasuede” website and blog. It’s been months since my iMac was stolen in that goddamn house burglary - dang, it has taken me a while to recover from that trauma! Up to now I’ve been happy posting stuff of interest on Facebook, but I have to admit I miss having my own site. So here is my new effort, re-colored, re-organized and re-named with a pithy but meaningless new title: “Polite Euphemism.” Apologies if you made comments on the old blog and don’t see them here - lost them all, along with my Kindle, flat-screen TV and Nikon camera.

So, it’s a new year and a new blog! OK, here we go...
